Your Impact Is
As an Electricity Market Modeller, you will join our Energy Markets modelling team to develop electricity spot projections based on plausible supply‐demand scenarios and mimic the bidding behaviour observed across various market participants. Your extensive experience with the Plexos market simulation software and Python coding skills will be crucial in this role.
You will support renewable energy developers by leveraging our quantitative risk analytics to assess a range of hedging strategies, develop shaped renewable energy products, and optimise renewable energy and storage investments. Your expertise will help drive informed decision‐making and strategic planning in the evolving energy market landscape.
You will also develop and implement approaches to the management of energy market risks for large commercial and industrial customers. You will work closely on the design and modelling of energy contract and hedging structures and interact with clients to implement long‐term risk‐management strategies tailored to their specific risk appetite and operational capabilities, incorporating the team's forward‐looking view on energy market conditions.
Qualifications
* At least 1 year's experience in electricity market modelling.
* Demonstrated quantitative skillset, working with or managing advanced risk analytics.
* Proven advanced experience with Plexos as well as MS Excel and Python programming skills.
* Enthusiasm and genuine interest in energy markets and electricity financial markets.
* Confident interpersonal skills – liaising with senior management.
* Excellent communication skills, able to communicate concisely and accurately.
* Multi‐disciplinary approach; open to diverse educational tertiary qualifications: finance, actuarial, commerce, engineering or similar.
