Haskoning Australia, a company of Haskoning, is seeking a Senior Coastal Engineer with strong civil or coastal engineering experience and a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to help grow and further develop our coastal business. We have a significant amount of forward work related to coastal engineering and design of coastal and maritime infrastructure. The individual we are seeking will be able to work within our NSW team supporting civil/coastal engineering projects across Australia and even in the Pacific.

What will you do
You will deliver discipline‐specific coastal advisory, engineering and management projects, including modelling, reporting and design (where required and as appropriate) solutions and services that meet the Company's, clients and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. As part of a small but highly credentialed team, you will work alongside experienced Coastal Engineers and modelers to help grow our place in the market and help improve our ability to win and execute top projects.
You will:
* Perform discipline specific engineering services such as:
* prepare project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets and schedules;
* conduct appropriate studies, analyses and recommend actions;
* Identify issues and problems; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required.
* Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in the discipline
* Proactively plan, undertake, coordinate and track assigned tasks.
* Provide regular updates and reporting to the Manager and engineering team as required.
* Assist where appropriate in business development activities (writing capability statements, preparing marketing materials).
* Assist in other general administrative or technical duties as required to assist the team in the completion of their objectives.
* Participate in in‐house training in company procedures, workplace safety instruction and various site safety courses as required.
* Develop as a Project Manager on a range of projects principally relating to the field of coastal engineering
* Assist with the development of the client base through the production of proposals and interaction with clients.
* Identify issues and problems and develop appropriate and innovative solutions. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in the disciplines required to deliver coastal engineering projects.
* Maintain appropriate records of training and experience with a goal of obtaining chartered status with Engineers Australia.
What you bring
* Several years' experience in the civil or coastal engineering space
* Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills in the relevant discipline
* Able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Independent thinker
Where you will work
This role will be based in our Sydney or Newcastle office. We offer a hybrid working arrangement with an expectation of 60% office work. There may be a requirement to travel and work remotely domestically or internationally to fulfill work commitments.
