Our team is seeking an experienced construction law expert to join our Sydney office.
About the role
* We require a professional with expertise in drafting and negotiating construction documentation, including contracts and agreements.
* The ideal candidate will have experience in providing advice and managing construction disputes, including adjudications, mediations, and arbitrations.
* The selected individual will be responsible for running litigation matters, primarily in the supreme court and international arbitration proceedings.
* A successful business development and client relationship management track record is also essential.
The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced practice group leader who has over 20 years' experience advising on contentious and non-contentious construction law matters.
Key responsibilities:
* Drafting and reviewing construction documentation, including contracts, tenders, and dispute resolution procedures.
* Providing expert advice on construction law matters, including contract interpretation, dispute resolution, and litigation strategy.
* Managing construction disputes, including negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations.
* Representing clients in litigation matters, primarily in the supreme court and international arbitration proceedings.
* Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Licenses: Admitted as a solicitor or barrister in Australia or equivalent overseas qualification.
* Certifications: Relevant certifications in construction law, such as the Australian Construction Law Group (ACLG) certification.
* Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in construction law, preferably with experience in drafting and negotiating construction contracts.
