About Us
Peninsula Hand Therapy is one of the longest established private hand and upper limb practices in Melbourne, and the preeminent service on the Mornington Peninsula. We are 8 experienced Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists practicing from one purpose-built clinic that fosters a strong and supportive team environment. Because of this structure, our clinicians do not have the responsibilities of travelling to multiple satellite clinic locations.
By nature of its size, our team gets to know each other well, meeting face-to-face daily and helping each other throughout the day. Due to the longstanding establishment of our clinic, we have strong ties with the MP community, sporting clubs, and GP clinics. We work very closely with our local hand, plastics, and orthopaedic surgeons, as well as rheumatologists and sports medicine doctors.
The Role
Whether you're a recent graduate or an experienced clinician, we are on the look out for a Hand Therapist to join our well-established Mornington clinic. For the right candidate, we can offer this role on either a part-time (3 days/week) OR full-time basis (4 days/week, 8AM-6PM) to suit your lifestyle and career goals.
Our clinic is well supported by a full-time practice manager and reception staff, who take care of all non-clinical administrative tasks such as booking patient appointments and taking payments so that you can focus on patient treatment.
As our valued Hand Therapist, your key duties will include but not be limited to:
* Managing and building on our large existing client base by developing a loyal caseload
* Constructing and implementing hand rehabilitation programs
* Providing a holistic approach to client care via the identification of underlying causes of injury with a focus on optimal lifelong physical health
* Developing excellent rapport with clients
* Demonstrating a commitment to improving your knowledge and clinical skills
About You
This is an excellent opportunity for a therapist looking to further develop their diagnostic skills, broaden their experience of hands-on treatment modalities and take on a leadership role in a well established clinic environment with a surprisingly broad range of upper limb conditions from infants to the elderly.
Our ideal candidate thrives in a customer service environment and loves creating long-term relationships with clients. You are passionate, professional, solutions based and love working as part of a team.
Additionally, you will have/be:
* Degree-qualified in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy with full AHPRA registration
* A current Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check and NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willing to obtain)
* Previous experience in hand therapy or a demonstrable interest in developing hand therapy skills through coursework and mentoring/supervision
* Strong time management and communication skills
* The capacity to work independently, proactively and empathetically with clients
* A commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth
