We're seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a 2&1 FIFI roster to the Pilbara in Western Australia. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, budgeting, cost planning, contract administration, financial control for civil infrastructure projects and financial management to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with all contractual and statutory requirements.
Role Overview
Reporting to the National Commercial Manager this role will be pivotal in advising and assisting the Project Manager and Contract Lead with Head Contract change management obligations as well as providing the engineering team with key cost control insights to effectively manage and deliver the project.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for civil works (earthworks, roads, drainage and structures),
* Monitor project costs against budgets and report on variances,
* Monitor project expenditures and forecast future costs,
* Liaise with engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure financial transparency,
* Conduct site visits to verify progress and assess material usage,
* Maintain accurate records of contracts, costs, and financial reports,
* Ensure compliance with head contract obligations,
* Prepare and assess progress claims and payment schedules,
* Undertake site measurements and quantity take-offs,
* Conduct regular financial reporting and cash flow forecasting,
* Identify potential commercial and contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies,
* Maintain comprehensive records to support claims and dispute resolution if required,
* Liaise with project teams, clients, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication of cost-related matters,
* Supporting the Project Manager and Commercial Lead in maintaining a live project change register, ensuring alignment between site activities and commercial claims.
About You
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering,
* Minimum 3–5 years' experience in civil infrastructure projects,
* Proficiency in cost management software (e.g. CostX, Expert Estimation),
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills,
* Strong negotiation and communication abilities,
* Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset,
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively,
* Familiarity with WA construction regulations and standards,
* Proficiency with document control and project management communications systems (e.g. Aconex, Unifier),
* Proficiency with Power BI and Excel (Advanced),
* Ability to work within strict deadlines and ability to manage competing priorities.
