**Preferred Qualifications**
The Senior Commercial Manager is responsible for reviewing, drafting and negotiating client contracts and agreements, including, but not limited to, state-wide software licensing agreements, add-on contracts, and confidentiality agreements. The Commercial Manager must be familiar with legal and commercial aspects of contracting and will responsible for identification and interpretation, as well as assisting with compliance with all aspects of contracting. The Commercial Manager is responsible for supporting the contracting components of RFP responses and ensures contract documents are consistent with internal finance quoting systems & secures appropriate approvals for contract documents.
**Basic Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Juris Doctor (LLB) or related field, or 4 years relevant work experience, plus;
- 4 years' experience or higher education, including;
- 2 years Contract administration and/or contract management work experience
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Degree in Business, Finance, Business Management or law
- Understanding of contractual language and business impact
- Experience in reviewing and interpreting a variety of complex contractual provisions and effectively communicating to stakeholders
- Identifying and managing commercial issues and outcomes in contract negotiations
- Demonstrated experience and success in contract negotiation (preferably in the IT or Healthcare fields)
- Extensive experience in contract drafting
- Extensive experience in management of post-signature contract requirements
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong relationship and communication skills
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Exceptional decision making ability
- Organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple competing tasks and work requests, typically with short deadlines
- Ability to travel as needed
**Detailed Description and Job Requirements**
As a member of the legal department you will work with Oracle legal counsel to draft non-standard contractual provisions and to complete agreements between Oracle and its strategic customers.
Work with various internal organizations to ensure that Oracle contracts comply with company policies. Responsible for providing legal support for complex software license, hardware systems and services transactions with Oracle customers and partners. Focus on transactions involving proprietary and open source software licensing, software as a service, software hosting, professional consulting services, business process outsourcing, data privacy/security, hardware sales, distribution arrangements, as well as general corporate matters.
Commercial negotiating and contracting experience. Ability to manage a variety of tasks, evaluate alternatives quickly, and provide top quality assistance and support to internal clients. Outstanding written and oral communication skills. Prefer two to three years of relevant experience in a major corporation with five plus overall years of experience.
