**The opportunity**
Bupa Health Insurance team have an opening for a
**Financial Crime Analyst **to perform and manage end-to-end investigations. The Analyst will conduct routine to complex investigations, including but not limited to fraud committed by external and internal parties to BUPA, bribery and corruption, sanctions, money laundering and account take overs.
In this newly created role, your contribution will underpin Bupa's efforts to stem not only financial crime in all its forms, but form an element of the prevention, detection, and response to claims leakage.
**This is a permanent full-time position and may be based in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, or Melbourne offices when you are not working from home.**
**How will I help?**
Key responsibilities include:
- Complete end to end investigations ensuring cases meet closure and quality metrics.
- Prepare factual reports of investigations to assist in identifying potential operational or compliance risks
- Prepare Suspicious Activity Reports ("SAR") for submission to regulators and/or law enforcement
- Perform quality control functions, training, communications, guidance, monitoring scenario development/enhancement input and testing, or law enforcement liaison responsibilities in an investigative support role
- Identify trends and patterns relating to financial crimes which can be used in the development of new business rules and controls to mitigate the identified risk
- Partner with Risk and Governance, front line staff and other stakeholders to resolve Investigations.

**What do I need?**
This role would suit an analyst with experience in completing investigations and strong stakeholder influencing skills.
- Diploma or certificate in investigation and/or fraud control or other relevant tertiary qualification
- Experience in conducting end-to-end investigations (e.g. misconduct, fraud etc)
- Have an understanding of Financial Crime Risks within corporate business
- Cross-functional experience, working with data science/ analytics teams and using advanced analytics concepts
- Demonstrated communication skills, engaging with both internal and external parties to influence decisions and encourage referrals
- Track record of achieving outcomes and deadlines in a high-pressured environment.
- Objective, analytical, and lateral thinking with the ability to summarize and communicate complex issues in a succinct manner
- Tenacious with a high attention to detail and strong influencing skills
- Strong written and presentation skills to clearly highlight complex data for all levels of the business
- Extensive analytic skills to analyse large amounts of data, intelligence, and information in order to detect suspicious activity
- Demonstrated ability to act with good judgment and discretion, including handling sensitive matters appropriately.
