We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer Consultant to support a strategic data initiative within a large financial services environment.
This role will focus on understanding, mapping, and modelling data flows within a VisionPLUS credit card ecosystem, with a particular emphasis on merchant card management, transaction data, collections, and downstream reporting requirements.
We're looking for someone who can quickly understand complex data structures, identify data lineage across systems, and help ensure data is accurately captured, transformed, and delivered to reporting and operational platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse and document data flows within the VisionPLUS workplace
* Develop and maintain logical and physical data models
* Map data movement between card processing platforms, operational systems, Data Warehouses, and Data Lakes
* Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand merchant, customer, account, and transaction data requirements
* Support data initiatives related to collections, reporting, and operational analytics
* Document source‐to‐target mappings, transformation rules, and business definitions
* Identify data quality issues and recommend improvements
* Ensure data models support future reporting, analytics, and operational requirements
What We're Looking For
* Strong experience in Data Modelling, Data Engineering, or Data Integration roles
* Hands‐on experience with VisionPLUS or a similar card processing platform
* Understanding of merchant card management, card transactions, customer accounts, and collections data
* Experience mapping complex data flows across multiple systems
* Robust SQL and data analysis skills
* Experience working with Data Warehouses and Data Lakes
* Ability to bridge business and technical teams effectively
* Solid documentation and stakeholder management skills

* Experience within banking, credit cards, payments, or financial services
* Exposure to collections, recoveries, or delinquency management processes
* Experience with cloud‐based data platforms and modern data architectures
* Previous involvement in data migration, transformation, or platform modernisation projects
