Leading importing and distribution company currently have an opportunity for a fit, energetic, and hardworking Warehouse Store person to join their team and assist with receiving, pick/pack, general warehousing, and distribution operations.
THE ROLE:
The Warehouse Store person is responsible for the efficient and safe management of inventory within the warehouse. This role involves receiving and checking goods, organising, and storing goods in an efficient manner, assisting with the maintenance of stock records, picking, packing, and checking of orders for dispatch, and contributing to overall warehouse operations and safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Unloading deliveries from vehicles and containers
- Incoming goods stored correctly and efficiently in designated locations
- Maintaining secure working environment and utilising safe work practices
- Picking cartons from storage areas according to customer orders
- Packing, checking and labelling orders accurately for dispatch
- Assisting with stocktakes and physical counts to ensure inventory accuracy
- Utilising handling equipment, including trolleys, pallet handling, conveyors, and forklifts to assist with safe handling of goods
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment
- Complying with all relevant health, safety, and environmental directions or policies
- Communicating effectively with fellow team members, suppliers, internal departments (e.g. sales, despatch, production), and all site visitors
- Collaborating & communicating with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES:
- Current Forklift License, preferably LF
- Proficient in the use of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks
- A valid driver’s license
- Previous experience in a warehousing role is preferred
- Physically fit, as manual labour and some heavy lifting will be required, including lifting / stacking boxes on pallets during container unloading and pick/pack operations
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and efficiently
- Ability to work well autonomously and as part of a team
