Job Description:

Our team seeks a dedicated Youth Worker to provide around-the-clock care and support to young people aged 12-17 in our residential care placements. As part of this role, you will play a critical part in helping these youth overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Your primary responsibilities will include building positive relationships with the young people and your colleagues, following established routines tailored to each individual's needs, transporting them to school, appointments, and activities, and assisting in implementing programs designed for growth and development.

You will also be responsible for creating a safe and welcoming living environment, completing summary notes, and participating in therapeutic crisis intervention training and other professional development opportunities.


To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

1. A current Working with Children Check
2. A current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid)
3. A National Police Check
4. A current driver's licence
5. Willingness to participate in a Worker/Carer Exclusion Scheme Check

In addition, you must have either a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or a recognised relevant qualification. You will also need to complete three mandatory units of competency: CHCMHS007 – Work effectively in trauma-informed care, CHCPRT009 – Provide primary residential care, and CHCCCS009 – Facilitate responsible behaviour.
