Job Description:

As a trusted team member, you will work with a diverse portfolio of trust accounting clients, handle complex queries, and play a key role in mentoring other accountants while upholding our culture of service excellence.

Key responsibilities include liaising with clients to ensure all relevant financial information is collected and deadlines are met. Clarify and resolve unusual or unclear financial information, and keep the Client Manager updated on client accounts and highlight potential issues. Ensure client accounts are accurate and operate smoothly, and handle complicated client requests or queries and escalate to the Client Manager when needed.

You will also manage new client transitions into our accounting service professionally, maximise invoicing opportunities across allocated clients (annual reviews, training, number of leases), and perform accurate financial accounting including general ledger management. Complete bank reconciliations and audits, ensure correct tax application and prepare BAS reporting, conduct payment runs, and liaise daily with RealTrust teams.

Additional responsibilities include generating monthly invoices, performing month-end accounting processing and generating financial reports, presenting financial reports as required, and producing and monitoring monthly KPI indicator reports. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, input, maintain, and report on annual client budgets, and prepare annual outgoings reconciliations according to agreed deadlines. Mentor and peer-coach other accountants, answering queries as required, and assist with training other accountants as needed.

Furthermore, you will apply accounting principles and maintain systems to ensure quality control, competently and accurately use accounting software, allocate and monitor client outgoings reconciliations workload, delegating tasks effectively, audit outgoing reconciliations as needed, conduct outgoing reconciliations where required, and liaise with clients to ensure timelines are agreed and met.

Ultimately, your goal will be to ensure client satisfaction with trust accounting processes and service, streamline internal accounting procedures while maintaining compliance, and stay up to date with changes in accounting legislation and ensure compliance. A Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy is required, with a minimum 3+ years' Trust Accounting experience (real estate preferred). Experience in property management accounting desirable, strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax application, and reporting, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, high attention to detail and accuracy, strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, outstanding customer service focus and confidence liaising with clients, a proactive, can-do attitude with curiosity to question and improve processes, and tech-savvy and confident using accounting systems.
