About the role
As a Department Manager you will be responsible for the ongoing daily operations, sales and high‑volume stock management within your specialist area. You will work closely with fellow Department Managers in departments such as Service, Inside the Home, Builders and Lifestyles & Garden while reporting directly to Operations & Complex Managers. You and your team of 20+ team members will be efficient, organized and the go‑to for our customers, driving service and operations through training, development and providing the best experience.
You will be required to monitor and measure customer service levels, liaise with teams in Merchandising, Store Leadership and Health & Safety, and develop strong relationships with suppliers.
This role includes a minimum of one weekend shift per three weeks and some public holiday work.

* Own department stock accuracy, including adjustments, replenishment discipline and loss prevention processes.
Who we’re looking for
We are seeking a highly driven individual with strong leadership and influencing skills, previous experience in leading teams focused on safety and wellbeing, and an ability to develop teams in specialist retail settings.
You’ll need
* Lead and inspire a large team (20+) to deliver the best experience through engagement, coaching and teamwork.
* Previous experience leading retail or high‑volume customer‑focused teams.
* Champion a safe & secure environment by role‑modeling safety leadership and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
* Confident leader experienced in opening and closing the store and supporting smooth trade across weekdays and weekends.
* Build team capability through clear expectations, performance conversations and recognition.
* Deliver on our service promise through effective rostering, planning and readiness for customer needs.
* Drive strong retail fundamentals, including merchandising excellence, sales performance, stock accuracy, availability and loss prevention.
