About the role
We have an opportunity for 2 Security Officer's to be part of our Security & Protocol team, Organisational Development Command, People & Capability Command. The role of the Security Officer is to perform safety and security services for the New South Wales Police Force in an ethical, efficient and cost effective manner for all Academy sites, facilities and persons therein.
Based in Goulburn at the NSW Police Academy, this position entails working 8 hours shifts on a 19-day 4-weekly roster covering shifts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Shift penalties and allowances apply to shifts worked on public holidays, weekends, afternoon and night shifts with a flexible approach to rostering to provide employees the ability to have a suitable work/life balance. Working in a small team, the position is responsible for on-site security, this includes (among other duties):
* Staffing the front gates,
* Locking and unlocking facilities,
* Providing after hours assistance to students and visiting staff,
* General on-site security monitoring and patrols.
The Academy is a secure location with onsite facilities including café and gym available to employees. To be considered for the role, applicants will need to demonstrate they meet the mandatory requirements that include:
* Possess a current NSW Security licence. Licenced according to the Security Industry Act 1997 – Class 1 A
* Hold an Australian driver's licence with no traffic infringements in the last 6 months
