* Operate, maintain and troubleshoot mud mixing, pumping, cleaning/recycling and waste management systems.
* Control pressures to mitigate frac‐out risks.
* Interpret drilling performance indicators (returns, cuttings, torque/drag, pressures, pump rates) and provide clear recommendations to the HDD Driller to respond to changing conditions.
* Maintain accurate daily records including mud volumes, products used, test results, losses/returns, incidents and corrective actions; provide end‐of‐shift and daily reporting.
* Support environmental controls and compliance including containment, spill prevention/response, waste segregation and appropriate disposal tracking.

About You

The successful applicant will have the following qualifications/experience and capabilities:

* Demonstrated experience as a MUD Technician/Drilling Fluids Technician on HDD, pipeline crossings, or similar fluid‐managed drilling environments.
* Strong working knowledge of drilling fluid systems, mixing and solids control, and the practical application of fluid testing and treatment.
* Ability to read and follow drilling fluid programs, understand basic borehole hydraulics concepts, and adapt treatment plans to ground changes.
* High commitment to safety, environmental compliance and disciplined documentation.
* Competency to carry out basic maintenance and troubleshooting on pumps, hoses, valves and mixing equipment.
