About the role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Boilermaker/Welder to join our dedicated and busy Devonport workshop.
Reporting to the Assistant Supervisor, you will be assisting with the repairs and maintenance of SeaRoad's Group of companies' facilities and equipment.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
Fabricate and assemble metal components and structures according to engineering specifications and drawings.
Perform welding tasks using various techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and machinery used in the SeaRoad Logistics & Shipping operation.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
About you
To be considered for this role, you will have the following skills and experience:
Completed apprenticeship or certification in boiler making or a related field.
Proven experience in metal fabrication & repairs and welding, preferably in a workshop or industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of safety standards and practices in a fabrication/repair environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment (up to 25 kg).
Comfortable working in various conditions, including standing for long periods and working in confined spaces.
A high degree of initiative.
Energetic self-starter, able to work well both supervised and unsupervised.
Right to work in Australia.
