YFS is seeking a full-timeFamily Therapistto join the FFT-CW team based in Logan, Queensland. Reporting to the Program Manager and Clinical Lead, this role focuses on working with families to enhance safety and strengthen relationships to prevent statutory interventions.
As well as having clinical experience, the person for this role will need to be flexible, engaging and have a high level of emotional intelligence along with good communication skills and the ability to rapidly build relationships and rapport with families, children and young people.
There's no doubt this is a challenging role: it will also be an opportunity to develop your clinical skills with lots of support, clinical reflection and training, working with a supportive team.
This role is suited for someone with a genuine passion for empowering families and making a positive impact in their lives.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing evidence-based therapy to families in their homes
* Conducting assessments to identify risks, protective factors, and behaviour change strategies
* Supporting families with structured therapeutic sessions tailored to their specific needs
* Participating in ongoing training and reflective supervision sessions
* Maintaining accurate client records and adhering to organisational policies
* Collaborating with external agencies and stakeholders to achieve family outcomes
* Contributing to team cohesion and program improvements
About the job
Role location:Jimboomba – our Jimboomba office is only 40 minutes from Logan and Springfield and a one-hour drive from the Gold Coast
Role type:Permanent, full-time
Pay range:$106,730 - $111,448 a year based on experience, with salary packaging exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax available
In this role you will:
* require a willingness to undertake some work outside of usual business hours, including up to 3 evenings a week as required
* have previous experience working with families, in an outreach capacity
* need knowledge and experience working with families with complex needs, including trauma, mental health, AOD, and family violence
* provide weekly structured therapy sessions in line with the FFT-CW phased model
* benefit from intensive training in the FFT-CW model, regular ongoing clinical support and a flexible work environment that may include working from home options after completion of probation.
About You
The ideal candidate will be confident, possess excellent interpersonal dynamics, resilience, strong social skills, and will have aminimum of 2 to 5 years of experience.
To qualify for this role, you will need:
* Tertiary qualificationsin psychology, social work, counselling, or a related field
* Postgraduate training or experiencein family therapy, systemic thinking, and clinical practice
* Proven abilityto deliver evidence-based interventions in complex family settings
* Strong understandingof child protection systems, trauma-informed practice, and cultural awareness
* A client-focused approach, resilience, and excellent interpersonal skills
* Flexibilityto work outside regular hours, including evenings
