Lead and deliver high-impact regulatory projects and implementation initiatives. You will work at the forefront of ASIC's anti-scams agenda, shaping how policy is applied in practice and driving real-world outcomes for consumers.

The team
ASIC's Scams Team is a specialist team within the Enforcement & Compliance Group (ECG) responsible for the coordination and delivery of ASIC's Scams Strategy. ASIC's focus under the Strategy is to reduce the impact of investment scams on Australian consumers, and ensure financial firms are effectively protecting their customers from scams. This also includes implementing work under the Scams Prevention Framework law reforms.

The role
As an
Advisor – Scams Strategy
, you will lead and contribute to complex regulatory policy and implementation initiatives, with a strong focus on delivery and regulatory uplift. You will be expected to operate with autonomy, exercise sound judgement, and drive outcomes in a dynamic and evolving environment.

You Will

* Project manage, lead and contribute to complex regulatory projects that implement and deliver outcomes under ASIC's Scams Strategy, including in relation to the Scams Prevention Framework
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders..
* Prepare high-quality briefings, advice and reports for ASIC leadership, to ensure informed decision-making.
* Identify, assess, and manage risks related to regulatory delivery, while deepening your expertise in scams and emerging regulatory challenges through research and legislative analysis.

About You
You are a strong regulatory policy professional with experience delivering complex initiatives within a regulatory environment. You bring hands-on experience in project management, applying regulatory frameworks, and working across stakeholders to achieve effective and practical outcomes.

You'll thrive as a communicator, collaborator, and influencer, building strong relationships, adapting to change, and championing ASIC's values of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork. You are highly organised, excel at managing competing priorities and complex projects, and demonstrate curiosity and agility in your approach. You quickly build deep subject matter knowledge and are comfortable leading work and driving tangible outcomes in fast-paced, evolving environments. You are passionate about the work we do and about reducing the impact of scams on Australian consumers.

To Be Successful, You Will Need

* A tertiary qualification in law, commerce, cyber, financial crime, public policy or a related field.
* Experience working in regulatory, policy, or fraud and scams management environments.
* Knowledge of scams and scams disruption, or the ability to quickly learn in these areas.
* Experience contributing to or leading regulatory implementation, reform or uplift initiatives.
* Experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders to deliver effective outcomes, with the ability to rapidly pick up relevant regulatory frameworks (including Pt IVF of the Competition and Consumer Act – Scams Prevention Framework).
