We are seeking an experienced Carpenter – Leading Hand to run day-to-day site activities and lead a small team of carpenters and apprentices. The role requires strong hands-on carpentry skills, leadership ability, and a commitment to quality, safety, and programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise carpenters, labourers, and apprentices on site
* Carry out high-quality carpentry works including:
o Framing
o Fix-out
o Cladding
* Interpret and work from construction drawings and specifications
* Plan daily tasks and coordinate labour and materials
* Ensure works are completed on time and to a high standard
* Liaise with site supervisors, builders, and subcontractors
* Maintain a safe work environment and enforce OH&S requirements
* Conduct quality checks and rectify defects as required
* Mentor and train apprentices and junior staff
Skills & Experience
* Qualified Carpenter (Cert III in Carpentry or equivalent)
* Minimum 5–7 years carpentry experience
* Previous experience as a Leading Hand or Site Supervisor preferred
* Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction
* Ability to read plans and manage site workflow
* Good communication and leadership skills
* High attention to detail and workmanship
* Strong problem-solving skills
