This is a focused role within the Finance Department, responsible for efficiently managing the combined payroll and accounts payable functions. The position requires a reliable individual with practical experience in processing high-volume finance transactions and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Core Job Functions
* Weekly Payroll Execution: Manage the complete weekly payroll cycle, including accurate data entry, complex calculations, statutory deductions (PAYG, Super, etc.), and timely payment.
* Compliance & Inquiries: Verify employee entitlements, resolve payroll anomalies, and manage inquiries from employees and external bodies (ATO, Fair Work). Handle all administration related to new hires and terminations in the company system.
* Accounts Payable Processing: Perform end-to-end accounts payable duties, including processing all creditor and subcontractor invoices, obtaining authorization, scheduling payments, creating remittances, and monthly account reconciliation.
* Administrative Support: Assist the Finance Manager with end‑of‑month procedures, support accident administration tasks, and provide guidance on finance processes to depot administrative staff.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation.
* Proficiency in finance/administration software.
* Strong focus on detail and verifiable accuracy in all calculations and data entry.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider finance team.
