Scenic, an industry leader delivering truly unrivalled travel experiences around the globe, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in our head office located in Newcastle.
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you'll play a key role in our Australia and Asia Pacific finance operations. This role is hands-on and business-facing, providing a high level of exposure across various finance functions while working closely with both local and international teams.

What you'll do:
* Manage general ledger reconciliations and month-end close processes
* Prepare and process journals and monthly overhead accruals
* Assist with year-end audit processes and reporting requirements
* Reconcile and process intercompany invoices
* Complete statistics and survey forms
* Provide Accounts Receivable support, including receipting when required
* Drive continuous improvement in financial controls and processes
* Build strong relationships across finance teams and other departments
What we're looking for:
Essential:
* A positive, proactive, and problem-solving mindset
* A self-starter with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
Desirable:
* Experience working in a high transaction volume environment
* Exposure to month-end processes or general accounting in a similar role
* Formal qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or similar (or working towards)
