The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Social Worker – Senior (Palliative Care) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
* Deliver advanced psychosocial assessment, intervention and advocacy
* Manage complex palliative caseloads with autonomous judgment
* Lead, mentor and supervise staff, students and multidisciplinary teams
* Drive quality improvement, education, research and service development
* Work flexibly across community, inpatient and specialist palliative settings
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
* A tertiary degree in Social Work
* Eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
* Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
* Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
* Blue Card/Working with children check
* Driver Licence
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
* Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

* Permanent part time (53.2 hrs p.f.)
* Base salary ranging from $64.64- $69.55 per hour

The Specialist Palliative Care Service (SPCS) provides compassionate, world-class care to meet the specialist palliative care needs of consumers within Gold Coast Health. In addition, SPCS leads several statewide services and projects.
Our services span community, inpatient, outpatient, residential aged care, consultancy, and telehealth settings. We collaborate with a broad network of organisations to deliver holistic, patient-centred care and actively promote innovation, quality improvement, and research to achieve optimal outcomes and goals of care.
This position is a key clinical role within the wider SPCS team, working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment to support the palliative care needs of referred patients across diverse programs and service settings.
This role is required to work flexibly and may be required to work across Gold Coast Health, including community, inpatient, outpatient, consultancy, statewide services and projects, as operationally required
