The Role
We are looking for a reliable and proactive Telecommunications Technologist to support our growing team in Tasmania. In this role you will be liaising with Customers, Onshore and Offshore Teams to deliver the Optimized Planning and designing solutions for Telecom Projects on multi telecom technologies whilst also coordinating with field teams to ensure prefect implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate onsite and offshore Telecom design teams.
Coordinate with Telecom field technicians for timely inputs for Design teams.
Prepare telecom design guidelines as per customer standard requirements.
Review designs to ensure the most efficient optimised designs are delivered.
Ensure delivery of designs within customer SLAs.
Preparation of Bill of Materials (BOM) & Bill of Quantities (BOQ) documents for construction activities.
Conduct field walkouts to ensure completion of Network construction.
Site inspection and acceptance testing.
Qualification Required for Role
Diploma/Bachelors in Electronics or Telecommunication Engineering with a minimum of 4 years' experience in planning & design of telecom networks.
Skills required for the role
Thorough understanding of access networks, industry standards and installation practices.
Strong knowledge of planning & designing of telecom networks.
Strong knowledge of splicing, termination and testing methodology.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
High level of organisational and prioritising skills.
Experience required for the role
Minimum 4 years of experience in the design and delivery of fixed telecommunication access networks, with a thorough understanding of aerial, underground and intra-building designs.
Experience in ensuring all end-to-end designs are in accordance with the technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
Experience in coordination between end client and design team in relation to the delivery of designs in a timely manner.
