Position Overview

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a trade qualified Fitter and Turner with previous experience as a Machine tool builder or Machine Tool Service technician with to join our team.
The successful candidate will work as member of the Marand team on our clients Pilbara works sites.
Your daily duties will consist of maintaining and supporting a full complement of Railway Rolling Stock Maintenance equipment. From CNC lathes and vertical boring machines to bespoke material handling, pressing and lifting equipment across multiple work sites.
With assistance from our Melbourne based head office you will have the opportunity to work remotely and on a diverse range of bespoke equipment.

Key responsibilities of the role are:
* Represent Marand at customers' sites.
* Diagnosing faults and malfunctions within production critical machines. Including CNC machines and Automated Pressing Machines.
* Performing repairs and replacing defective parts.
* Carrying out preventive maintenance to ensure high reliability of systems.
* Providing technical support and advice to the users of the equipment.
* Perform routine and preventive maintenance for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing optimal functionality of required tools and equipment.
* Assist other trades personnel as required for the purpose of completion of works activities (eg. commissioning, on-site repair/servicing, fault finding).
* Prepare documentation and reports such as pre and post service reports, SWMS, maintenance schedules, etc.
* Work closely with the customer to build relationships to maintain / improve up time on equipment.
Essential Technical Skills and Qualifications:
* Previous experience as a Machine tool builder or Machine Tool Service technician.
* Proficient in the disassembly, assembly, repair and commissioning of a variety of machines and components.
* Strong interest in equipment technology, as well as demonstrated mechanical ability.
* Understanding of engineering drawings.
* Trade qualifications in Fitting & Turning and previous experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
* Previous experience as a service technician will be highly regarded.
* Previous experience with CNC machining centres will be highly regarded.
* Solid understanding and previous experience of hydraulics and pneumatics
* Confined Space Entry Qualifications.
* Forklift Driver Qualifications.
* EWP tickets.
* Heavy Ridged Truck Licence.
* Working at Heights.

Valid working rights in Australia (First Nations candidates encouraged).
