Senior Security Engineer | Sydney | Permanent My client in the financial services sector is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join their growing global team. It’s a broad, hands‑on Senior Security Engineer position as you’d be working across network security, cloud, endpoint, and identity, really owning the security platforms end‑to‑end.
Key responsibilities
BAU security operations (tickets, changes, vulnerability and identity management)
Act as the main contact for security requests across the business
Operate and support core tools: firewalls, SASE, CASB, proxies, endpoint, NAC, cloud security platforms
Monitor and maintain security platform health and performance
Troubleshoot across network, cloud, endpoint, and security layers
Support automation and operational improvements
Participate in global follow‑the‑sun support (incl. after‑hours rotation)
Ensure security controls enable rather than hinder the business
About you
5+ years’ experience in security engineering or operations
Strong network security and infrastructure knowledge (firewalls, SASE, proxies, CASB)
Experience across endpoint, identity, vulnerability, and cloud security tools
Solid understanding of networking, OS, and cloud environments
Familiar with monitoring/observability and troubleshooting tools (e.g. Wireshark)
Scripting/automation skills
Ownership mindset with a pragmatic, business‑focused approach
