About Lavarack Health Centre
Located in Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia, Lavarack Health Centre supports approximately 8,000 ADF personnel. The base includes the Operational Deployment Force and facilities that undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment.
The Health Centre provides a comprehensive range of services including primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care, and operates a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward.
Standard operating hours are generally 0700–1630 Monday to Friday, with some weekend shifts depending on operational requirements and specific craft groups.
What You'll Do
Maintain electronic and hard copy health records
Input health data into health and personnel management information systems
Communicate and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including other health services/facilities to obtain patient information
Generate reports from databases to assist with unit key performance indicators
Process stores requests and act as a Supply Customer Account Manager in line with the Defence Electronic Supply Chain Manual
Perform filing, photocopying, and medical documentation management
Participate in auditing of health records
Manage mail collection and distribution
Order stationery and expendable stores from in-service and external agencies
Undertake additional administrative tasks to support the effective functioning of the service, including meeting attendance, supervision of Commonwealth personnel, and providing training where required
What You Bring
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels internally and externally
Minimum 1 year full-time (or part-time equivalent) experience in an administrative role
Evidence of completion of a medical terminology course from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or willing to obtain qualification
Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Baseline Security Clearance prior to commencing on a Defence base
