Our client is an engineering company specializing in the delivery of Renewable Energy infrastructure projects across the APAC region. Our client provides end-to-end services in design, engineering, equipment supply, and project management for the energy sector.
Job Purpose
The Senior Protection & Control Engineer will be responsible for leading the production and management of design and engineering deliverables for Protection and Control systems within High Voltage T&D projects.
This includes feasibility studies, tender and detailed designs, design reviews, and technical verifications. The Senior Engineer will also be accountable for design management, engineering governance, quality assurance, and mentorship of the Protection & Control design team, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry standards.
Position Profile
Qualifications and Skills
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Power Systems Engineering from a recognized institution.
* Membership with relevant national and/or international professional engineering bodies.
* Comprehensive understanding of national and international engineering standards, codes, and best practices.
* Sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and Safety in Design (SiD) principles.
* Strong technical documentation, report writing, and presentation abilities.
* Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple engineering disciplines.
Experience
* Minimum 15 years of design and engineering experience in Protection & Control system design for utility substations or large-scale renewable energy and T&D infrastructure projects.
* Proven experience conducting load flow and short circuit studies, protection coordination and relay settings, and relay configuration and programming.
* Demonstrated capability in delivering Protection & Control system designs for EHV substations, ideally with experience in IEC 61850 standards.
