The Role
This is a full-time Specialist Support Team Member role at Melbourne Shoulder & Upper Limb. The position is based in Melbourne, VIC, and involves onsite work aligned with consulting sessions across the following locations (primarily, but not limited to):
* Epping
* Werribee
There is also the opportunity to work from home.
The Specialist Support Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of the patient journey in relation to their surgical specialist. You will work closely with two orthopaedic surgeons based in Melbourne's northern and western regions and be an integral part of a broader team of six orthopaedic specialists.
Key Responsibilities
* Building and maintaining patient relationships
* Coordinating surgery bookings
* Preparing and managing theatre lists
* Liaising with theatre teams and managing schedule changes
* Overseeing surgical documentation and payments
* Coordinating post-operative care
* Responding to complex patient queries
* Leading the patient journey with a positive, compassionate, and professional approach
* Wound management (hands‐on, for suitably qualified candidates)
About You
Candidates with both clinical and non‐clinical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Essential Experience & Skills:
* Experience with surgical bookings (private or public sector)
* A positive, "ray of sunshine" attitude
* Strong technical proficiency
* Strong administrative and organisational skills
* Experience with Informed Financial Consent
* Orthopaedic sector experience (highly regarded)
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
* Exceptional attention to detail
