About this role

The Service Manager will lead the day-to-day operations of Child, Youth and Families (CYF) services, ensuring they meet client needs and operate in line with organisational values and legislative requirements. The role involves leading a high-performing team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, managing budgets, and contributing to the mission of providing holistic support to vulnerable families and children.

Key responsibilities

* Service Operations Management: Lead the day-to-day operations of CYF services, addressing client grievances, and identifying key support opportunities.
* Business Development: Prepare business cases, funding applications, proposals, and change management plans, actively participating in benchmarking activities and working toward achieving service targets.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships with funding bodies, key stakeholders, and partners, negotiating contracts and funding agreements.
* Financial Management: Prepare and monitor service budgets, ensuring financial targets are met, and provide regular, accurate financial reporting within organisational timelines.
* Cultural Inclusivity: Foster a culturally safe and inclusive environment, working closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, children, and families to break the intergenerational cycle of over-representation in care.
* Team Leadership: Lead a diverse and motivated team, ensuring alignment with the organisation's strategies and fostering a positive workplace culture.
* Compliance & Safety: Promote and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards, adhering to relevant legislative and regulatory requirements in all aspects of service delivery.

Requirements

* Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
* Strong understanding of financial management systems and budgeting processes.
* Current driver's license and willingness to travel intrastate periodically.
* Knowledge of the Sanctuary Model of Care (desirable).
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in a management role in social welfare or child protection.
* Demonstrated ability to identify business development opportunities and improve service delivery.

Additional requirements

* Current National Police Certificate, Working with Children (Blue Card), and other necessary background checks (or willingness to acquire).
* Current Influenza or ability to obtain.
