This is an exciting role where you will work collaboratively with young people in their recovery, assisting them to develop and maintain relationships that facilitate independence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide quality support and services to young people with mental health issues who live in residential care.
* Mentor and act as role models for young people in building positive social skills, utilising effective conflict management and negotiation, and building healthy relationships.
* Encourage and educate young people on healthy living habits to support emotional well-being.
* Assist young people with mental health issues to improve their daily living skills through guidance, supervision, and encouragement.
Requirements:
* Hold a minimum qualification of a Cert IV in Mental Health/Community Services or another related discipline (ideally, a completed Diploma or Bachelors).
* Have experience working with young people experiencing mental health issues, such as in a Youth Worker or equivalent position.
* Demonstrated capacity to relate to young people, their families/carers, and other stakeholders with dignity and respect.
