We're seeking a skilled Auto Electrician to join a growing team working with advanced road safety and traffic management technology. Based in Townsville, this full-time role is primarily workshop-based, with occasional travel across Queensland to support and maintain a fleet of specialised mobile trailer systems.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong auto‐electrical background who enjoys fault‐finding, hands‐on work, and getting into the detail of modern electrical and electronic systems. You'll be working on a unique mix of trailer‐mounted technology incorporating 24V systems, control equipment, and integrated electronics used across both coastal and remote QLD.

Key Responsibilities
* Carry out workshop-based servicing, repairs, and maintenance on a fleet of high‐tech mobile trailers
* Diagnose and rectify electrical, mechanical, and control system faults
* Work with 24V electrical systems, wiring, and component integration
* Conduct preventative maintenance and system checks
* Perform fault‐finding across electrical and electronic systems
* Safely tow and manoeuvre trailers (up to 2 tonnes) when required
* Attend occasional field jobs across regional and remote Queensland
* Assist with onsite setup, deployment, and recovery of equipment
* Maintain accurate records and follow safety and operational procedures
* Collaborate with a small team of technicians and engineers
About You
* Qualified Auto Electrician or strong background in auto‐electrical systems
* Experience working with 12V/24V systems, diagnostics, and fault finding
* Confident using tools, test equipment, and reading schematics
* Practical, hands‐on approach with strong problem‐solving ability
* Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
* Ability to tow and reverse trailers (or willingness to learn)
* Reliable, organised, and takes pride in quality workmanship
* Willingness to travel occasionally and work in varied environments
* Holds a valid manual driver's licence and full Australian working rights
Desirable (but not essential)
* Experience with control systems or integrated electronics
* Exposure to Linux/UNIX or basic networking concepts
* Mechanical or fabrication skills
* Experience working on trailers, plant, or mobile equipment
