ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of People and Culture, this senior leadership role is responsible for
delivering enterprise‑wide people and culture strategies that enable organisational
performance, capability and cultural maturity.

As a trusted advisor to executives and senior leaders, you will provide contemporary
human resource and employee relations expertise while leading a small, high‑performing
People and Culture team. The role balances strategic influence with hands‑on leadership
and plays a key role in workforce planning, leadership capability, employee relations,
organisational change and people governance.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
What you will be doing:
1. Deliver and embed the organisation’s people and culture strategy through practical,

enterprise‑wide Human Resource Management (HRM) frameworks, programs and
initiatives.

2. Provide expert, timely, contemporary and strategic human resource and employee
relations advice to executives and senior leaders, supporting effective people
initiatives, decisions and business outcomes.

3. Drive continuous improvement of HR policies, systems and governance, ensuring
compliance with legislative, industrial and public sector requirements.

4. Oversee and provide leadership on complex and high‑risk employee and industrial
relations matters, ensuring timely, compliant and high‑quality outcomes, and providing
risk‑informed guidance to leaders.

5. Trusted coaching partner with the Executive and Senior leaders to provide strategic
advice on workforce strategy, organisational design, leadership capability, recruitment,
performance management, employee relations and organisational change initiatives.

6. Drive workforce capability and culture initiatives that enhance leadership
effectiveness, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, wellbeing and
organisational performance outcomes.

7. Shape and influence organisational capability by partnering with leaders to identify
current and future workforce capability needs and contributing to enterprise‑wide
capability and leadership development initiatives.

8. Oversee the delivery of timely high-quality people analytics, reporting and insights to
inform decision-making and assurance.

9. Lead the people aspects of organisational change and transformation activities,
ensuring impacts on employees and leaders are proactively managed and embedded.

10. Drive, develop and manage a high‑performing People and Culture team, building
professional capability and capacity while fostering accountability, engagement and
continuous improvement.

11. Comply with the NTPS and Jacana Energy’s Code of Conduct, corporate values,
strategies, policies and procedures, and all relevant regulatory and governance
requirements.

SELECTION CRITERIA
The ideal candidate must have:
1. Demonstrated senior level experience (minimum 5 years’ experience) in delivering

contemporary human resource management and employee relations services within a
complex organisational environment, including the provision of strategic advice on
sensitive or high-risk workforce matters.

2. Proven capability to design, implement and continuously improve enterprise-wide
HRM frameworks, policies and initiatives that enhance organisational effectiveness,
workforce capability and alignment with strategic objectives.

3. Well-developed leadership experience in leading and developing a team, including
setting clear priorities, establishing accountabilities, monitoring performance and
fostering a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.

4. Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, performance, talent management
and succession planning, including leveraging workforce data, insights and best-
practice methodologies to address current and future capability needs.

5. Experience in managing leadership development initiatives or programs, including
building leadership capability, reinforcing desired organisational behaviours and
supporting cultural maturity and organisational change.

6. Highly developed communication, consultation and negotiation skills, with a
demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, build trust and establish
effective collaborative relationships across stakeholder groups.

7. Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to
develop practical, innovative and evidence-based solutions to complex workforce,
employee relations and organisational challenges.

8. Demonstrated professionalism, judgement and sensitivity in managing organisational
risks, ensuring outcomes are achieved in a compliant, ethical and constructive
manner.

You may also have:
1. Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management, Business or similar.
2. Sound knowledge of the Public Sector Employment and Management Act (or

equivalent) and the Fair Work Act.
3. Proven experience providing HRM services in the utilities industry.
