Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor the Cultural Heritage team within the region
Monitor and respond to cultural heritage issues, providing strategic advice and aligning solutions with TMR goals
Develop and maintain relationships with Traditional Owner Groups, including managing consultations and negotiations, and developing Cultural Heritage Management Agreements
Manage cultural heritage services to support the QTRIP program and Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements projects
Provide expert advice on cultural heritage issues, manage performance matters, and ensure industry best practices
Analyze technical and performance data using various tools and systems
Build effective relationships within TMR and with external agencies to manage cultural heritage issues
Represent the department in forums, workshops, and events on cultural heritage matters
Handle responses to Ministerial inquiries, Cabinet submissions, and general inquiries
Contribute to cultural heritage legislation and policy development
Develop and manage regional cultural heritage management systems, policies, and guidelines
Prepare reports on cultural heritage activities at departmental and government levels
Participate in audits and incident reviews
Manage team programs, procurement, and financial performance
Lead and develop the Cultural Heritage team, supporting employee wellbeing and recruitment
Mandatory Qualifications and Conditions
Criminal history check required due to access to sensitive data
Degree in archaeology, anthropology, social science, or equivalent
Current Class 'C' Driver's License
