Job Title: Fitter Apprentice
We are seeking a motivated and reliable person who is wanting to gain practical on the job experience whilst receiving extensive training and a Certificate III Engineering-Mechanical Trade.
As an Apprentice Fitter, you will be responsible for proactive, preventative and reactive maintenance, small plant and machine upgrades, mechanical machining & fitting, welding – including TIG for stainless steel, and maintaining a clean workplace.
Responsibilities:
* Proactive and preventative maintenance to achieve optimal operational requirements while maintaining safe work practices.
* Small plant and machine upgrades to improve efficiency and productivity.
* Mechanical machining & fitting to assemble and repair machinery.
* Welding – including TIG for stainless steel to join metal components.
* Maintaining a clean workplace to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
About You:
* You should have a Higher School Certificate (minimum) or other relevant qualification with an aptitude for technical/mechanical work.
* Practical trade skills and/or relevant pre-apprenticeship experience would be advantageous.
* A team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A quick learner with good computer skills and the ability to adapt to new technology.
* Strong ongoing commitment to workplace health & safety.
