Job Opportunity: Leading Hand in Parks and Town Maintenance
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to lead a team of maintenance staff in the upkeep of parks, gardens, recreation reserves, town streetscapes, and roadsides.
The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in the timely completion of programs and works associated with maintenance and construction duties.
* Maintenance of parks and gardens, recreation reserves, town streetscapes, and roadsides
* Construction and maintenance of grassed areas, including mowing in streets and parks, and slashing of roadsides and other areas
* Construction and maintenance of garden beds, landscape features, and irrigation systems
* Carrying out road maintenance and construction duties as required
* Carrying out on-road and off-road inspections as required
In addition to these responsibilities, the successful applicant will also assist with staff supervision, including:
* Overseeing staff and work programs; acting as Team Leader during periods of leave
* Assigning staff, allocating resources, and participating in and/or overseeing work performance of allocated maintenance team
* Accurate and timely preparation and presentation of attendance records, time sheets, and other related matters
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require a relevant formal qualification in Horticulture at Certificate III level or above, as well as relevant experience in Parks & Gardens maintenance.
You will also possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
