**Job Summary:**
* The General Manager (Strong Country) plays a key role in driving the strategic direction and operational delivery of programs and services within the Strong Country Unit.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Provide leadership and management to the Strong Country Team, ensuring effective day-to-day operations, human resources, and administration.
* Foster partnerships and collaborations with diverse stakeholders, including First Nations organizations, government agencies, and research institutions.
* Oversee the development and implementation of Strategic Plans and Annual Work Plans, aligning with the Corporation's objectives and funding agreements.
* Manage program budgets, seeking additional funding opportunities to strengthen the economic sustainability of the ranger program.
* Maintain a sound understanding of contracts, terms, and conditions, ensuring compliance with funding agreements.
* Lead by example, promoting a positive culture of sharing, support, communication, and cooperation among team members.
**Essential Criteria:**
* Recognized degree in Anthropology, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management, or related disciplines, or equivalent experience.
* Strong leadership and management skills, with a focus on cultural land management.
* Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining partnerships with diverse external parties.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate cross-cultural environments.
* Understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal social and cultural challenges, with a commitment to community empowerment, training, and development.
**Desirable Criteria:**
* Experience working with GIS mapping software.
* Experience working with state conservation agencies or federally funded ranger programs.
