Drug and Alcohol Intake Officer Job Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Drug and Alcohol Intake Officer. This role will involve providing a centralised first point of contact for clients seeking assistance with substance use problems.
Job Description
This position is responsible for:
* Providing telephone and face-to-face services for drug and alcohol intake assessment and treatment planning;
* Coordinating referrals to relevant drug and alcohol services within the Western NSW Local Health District;
* Working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support to clients;
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs and develop individualised treatment plans;
* Provide education and information to clients about drug and alcohol issues and recovery options;
* Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and services to ensure seamless referral processes;
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree in a related field such as health science, social work or psychology;
* Relevant experience working with clients who have substance use issues;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
* A strong ability to work independently and as part of a team;

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm (excl public holidays)
