**About the Role**:
We have an exciting opportunity available for a permanent full-time Procurement Officer to join our Epic Pharmacy team in Northern Beaches. Working with our expert local staff, you will gain the opportunity to make a difference in the community by contributing to patient care. This is a physical role that requires you to manually lift objects and stand, bend and squat.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Ensure all stock is purchased efficiently from the correct supplier
- Ensure sufficient stock on hand at all times, especially life saving drugs
- Manage stock shortages and find alternative medications
- Coordinate all inventory management activities
- Ensure that appropriate product levels are maintained and stored in accordance with legislative requirements
- Coordinate monthly expiry date checks
- Liaise with finance department on all invoices
- Effective management of product recalls
- Coordinate stocktake activities
- Maintain purchasing systems
- Assist dispensary technicians with dispensing workload as needed
**About the hospital**:
Northern Beaches Hospital is a 488-bed hospital providing care to both public and private patients. The hospital has a 50 bed Emergency Department, 14 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter labs, 4 procedural rooms and provides a comprehensive range of surgical services, critical care and intensive care services. The hospital also has Maternity, Paediatric, Renal, Cancer Care, Mental Health and Antimicrobial Stewardship services.
The Epic team at Northern Beaches is situated in the foyer of the hospital and has 32 full-time-equivalent staff, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Our team is split between the dispensary and the wards with pharmacists providing a full clinical service to all inpatient wards of the hospital.

**About You**:
- Previous experience in a similar role or as a pharmacy technician
- Sound experience of procurement function
- Strong customer service focus and excellent communication skills
- Initiative, accuracy and commitment to quality of service
- Exceptional organisational skills
Hospital experience not required as structured training is provided.
