Eligibility/Other requirements:
An ALIA-accredited undergraduate or postgraduate university qualification in library and information science, acceptable for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association, is mandatory.
Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra .
Visa holders are eligible to apply for both permanent and temporary roles. Those with eligible visas may be considered for permanent employment, while individuals with temporary residency or limited-duration visas may be offered permanent employment for the duration of their visas.
This is a rostered position requiring working weekday, weekend, and evening shifts.
Note: This is an expected vacancy. This is a temporary position available from 2 July 2026 until 30 August 2026 with the possibility of permanency.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill librarian vacancies over the next 12 months.
