Support Worker Role Overview
* We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support worker to join our team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with young people in their recovery, providing quality support and services to those living in residential services.
* This role requires the ability to provide client-focused, community-oriented, and sensitive support. You will assist young people with mental health issues to develop and maintain healthy relationships, facilitating independence.
* You will also assist individuals in improving their daily living skills through guidance, supervision, and encouragement. Additionally, you will mentor and act as a positive role model for young people in building social skills, conflict management, and healthy relationships.
* The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting emotional wellbeing, self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence in young people. They will educate and encourage healthy living habits, enabling individuals to thrive in their personal and professional lives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide individualized support to young people living in residential services.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes.
* Develop and implement personalized support plans.
* Assist with daily living tasks, including meal preparation and household management.
* Encourage participation in recreational activities and promote physical health.
Requirements:
* Diploma or certificate in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, social work).
* Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly young people with mental health issues.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
