Role Summary
As Psychological Wellbeing Service Manager at Acacia Prison, you'll oversee social workers and psychologists delivering critical mental health support, including crisis care and targeted interventions. You will also drive team performance, managing rostering, leave, and development to ensure consistent, high-quality care. This is a full‐time, permanent role based in Wooroloo, WA.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strong leadership and strategic direction aligned with the broader prison plan
* Bring extensive clinical experience with adults, including advanced expertise in assessing and managing suicide and self-harm risk
* Uphold and lead ethical practice in line with professional standards, policies and values
* Build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams, with strong communication skills and understanding of correctional practices and stakeholder needs
Qualifications
* Hold a valid registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA, with a Masters in Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychology desirable and/or a Degree in Social Work and eligibility for registration with the AASW
* Extensive experience in the delivery of clinical intervention services to adults
* Advanced knowledge of the assessment and management of suicide and self-harm risk
* Highest level of ethical behaviour
* Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of legislative provisions and modern correctional management practices and operations within a prison
