A new opportunity is available for an experienced and suitably qualified Registered Nurse - High Dependency Unit (HDU) to join a surgical services team on a full-time, permanent basis at a private hospital in Melbourne. ABOUT THE ROLE This position involves the coordination and delivery of high-quality nursing care to patients within the 29-bed surgical ward and 3-bed HDU, with capacity for additional telemetry monitoring. Key specialties on the ward include Orthopaedics and Urology. Your responsibilities will include: Delivering safe, compassionate and effective care to patients with higher acuity needs; Providing clinical leadership and support within the HDU; Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes; Supporting education, mentoring and clinical supervision for junior staff. REQUIREMENTS Current Registration with AHPRA; Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care or High Dependency Nursing (or working toward completion); Proven clinical experience in a high-acuity or HDU/ICU setting-at least 2 years; Strong communication, assessment and clinical decision-making skills; Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team; Commitment to the Mission and Values of St Vincent's Health Australia.
