Melbourne Park – 25.02.2026 – Permanent | Full-time

About The Job

We are seeking an experienced Horticulturalist to join our team on a permanent, full‐time basis. Reporting to the Horticulture Coordinator, this role plays a key part in delivering exceptional horticultural outcomes across the precinct. With a strong focus on maintaining and enhancing our horticulture assets, you will help drive the annual horticulture program forward – with a keen eye on ensuring the site presents at world‐class standard for the Australian Open each year. This role supports the care and presentation of site lawns and open space areas including gardens, lawns, indoor and outdoor plantings and irrigation systems across a high‐profile venue environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the delivery of the horticulture maintenance program across parks and gardens
* Support and drive the horticulture program with a focus on Australian Open readiness
* Manage horticulture assets including indoor plants, outdoor planters, and gardens across the precinct
* Assist in the management of site lawns and open space areas
* Assist in irrigation system programming, troubleshooting, and repairs
* Uphold high standards of safety, sustainability, and environmental practices
* Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
KEY RELATIONSHIPS INCLUDE
* Venue, Event and Operations Management teams (Rod Laver Arena, John Cain Arena, Margaret Court Arena, AAMI Park, Centrepiece)
* Tennis Australia and other tenants
* Venue hirers including entertainment promoters and sports teams
About You

You are a qualified and passionate Horticulture professional who takes pride in delivering beautifully maintained landscapes in high‐profile public environments. You thrive in a collaborative team setting and are motivated by contributing to a precinct that hosts internationally recognised events.

You Have
* Certificate III in Horticulture (Parks and Gardens)
* ACUP licence
* Experience managing horticultural needs across a precinct or similar large site
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
* Experience operating horticultural equipment in public spaces
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
* Excellent problem‐solving ability with keen attention to detail
* High level of computer literacy, including sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Advantageous But Not Essential
* Experience working across large‐scale sites
* Understanding of Work Health and Safety practices
* Forklift licence
