Our client is a dynamic and fast-growing exploration company focused on the discovery and development of minerals across the base metals, precious metals, and battery minerals sectors. The Opportunity reporting directly to the CFO, this is a hands-on and varied role that will see you managing day-to-day financial operations and supporting broader finance functions. You will be an integral part of a close-knit team, contributing to the financial integrity and efficiency of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate financial records through timely data entry and transaction processing
* Manage the accounts inbox, ensuring timely distribution and follow-up of incoming communications
* Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice and payment management
* Perform monthly bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
* Prepare payment runs, ABA files, and supporting documentation
* Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
* Support tax and compliance reporting such as BAS, payroll tax, FBT, R&D, and income tax
* Maintain financial records both electronically and physically in line with audit requirements
* Liaise with staff to ensure timely collection of receipts and documentation
* Assist with onboarding new suppliers and managing related processes
* Utilise the ERP system (Classic) and Microsoft Office Suite for daily tasks and reporting
Skills and Experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounting role
* Tertiary qualifications in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field
* Strong understanding of double-entry accounting and general accounting principles
* Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* High attention to detail with strong time management and organisational skills
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
