Job Role Summary:
The primary objective of this role is to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reconciliations, and analyses in accordance with established accounting standards.
Main Responsibilities:
* Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that accurately reflect the organization's financial position and performance.
* Account Reconciliations: Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and identify any discrepancies or irregularities.
* Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to provide management with valuable insights into the organization's financial performance and trends.
* Process Improvement: Collaborate with management to develop and enhance financial reporting processes and controls to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Tax Compliance
* Tax Filings: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings to ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
* Financial Data Compilation: Compile financial data and documentation required for external tax advisors to facilitate accurate and timely tax filing.
* Tax Regulation Monitoring: Stay up-to-date with changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
* Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and filing deadlines.
Journal Entries & General Ledger Management
* Journal Entry Preparation: Prepare and review complex journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and payroll entries.
* General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
* Closing Processes: Support month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely completion and accuracy.
* Discrepancy Resolution: Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.
Audit Preparation
* Audit Coordination: Coordinate and prepare materials for annual external audits and periodic internal audits.
* Audit Documentation: Provide detailed schedules, documentation, and explanations as requested by auditors.
* Audit Recommendations Implementation: Implement audit findings and recommendations to improve internal controls and processes.
* Audit Support Files: Maintain organized and accurate audit support files throughout the year.
