About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Printer / Press Operator to join our team in Melbourne, operating advanced 6 and 8 colour Heidelberg presses with Cutstar reel-fed units.
This is a permanent full-time role offering a compressed 3-day work week (36 hours).
* Start on day shift during onboarding.
* Transition to permanent night shift (Wednesday–Friday, 6pm–6am).
Your Duties
* Operate Heidelberg XL printing presses and die cutters.
* Interpret job tickets and production requirements.
* Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and production standards.
* Perform colour checks and print quality inspections.
* Complete changeovers efficiently with minimal downtime and waste.
* Troubleshoot and resolve printing or mechanical issues.
* Lead and support printer's assistants on press.
* Work closely with prepress and finishing teams.
* Capture production data and provide feedback.
* Support continuous improvement and plant initiatives.
About You
* Trade-qualified printer (or equivalent experience).
* Proven experience operating multi-colour Heidelberg presses (Cutstar experience highly regarded).
* Strong understanding of colour management and print quality standards.
* Ability to read and use colour measurement devices.
* Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook).
* Mechanically minded with strong problem-solving skills.
* Physically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
* Team player with strong communication and organisational skills.
