MinterEllison is seeking a Senior Associate to join our nationally recognised Energy & Resources team in Melbourne. This is an opportunity to work on high‐profile, market‐leading energy projects across the public and private sectors.
In this role, you will work closely with leading partners such as Fiona Lewis and senior lawyers to advise clients navigating Australia's complex and evolving energy regulatory landscape. Your work will be diverse and impactful, including:
* Advising on major government and commercial energy projects
* Drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
* Providing strategic regulatory advice and compliance guidance
* Supporting clients to achieve both commercial and policy objectives
You will engage directly with a broad client base across government and corporate sectors, contributing to some of the most significant and complex energy matters in the market.
About You
We are looking for a commercially minded lawyer who thrives in a collaborative, high‐performing environment. If you are a regulatory lawyer with an interest in energy and want to work at the forefront of the sector, we'd love to hear from you.
* 5+ years' post‐admission experience in commercial and regulatory law
* Admitted to practice in Victoria
* Demonstrated experience in contract drafting and regulatory advisory work
* A strong interest in or exposure to energy and infrastructure projects
* The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team‐driven culture
* A client‐focused mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships
* Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous development
* A strong sense of ownership, professionalism, and pride in your work and the firm you represent
