About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Landscape Gardener for an immediate full‐time start, working 38 hours per week from Mona Vale, NSW 2103.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including:
* Interpreting landscape plans, drawings, and project layouts in accordance with client requirements and site specifications.
* Coordinating landscaping activities to ensure projects are completed efficiently and within timelines.
* Marking out structural and planted landscape features, including both hard and soft landscaping components.
* Constructing landscape structures, including gravel and paved surfaces, retaining walls, fences, trellises, pergolas, ponds, barbecues, and outdoor garden furniture.
* Preparing soil areas, seedbeds, and planting sites to promote healthy plant establishment and growth.
* Planting and maintaining trees, hedges, bushes, flowers, and bulbs according to landscape plans.
* Preparing lawn areas through spreading and levelling topsoil, sowing grass seed, and laying instant turf, and ongoing maintenance such as mowing, topsoiling, and fertilising.
* Inspecting and assessing trees to determine their health, structural condition, and required treatment or maintenance.
* Trimming and shaping tree branches and removing limbs using chainsaws, handsaws, and other specialised equipment.
* Applying sprays, fertilisers, and pest or disease control treatments to plants and trees, and removing diseased or damaged trees where required.
* Operating and maintaining irrigation systems.
* Operating landscaping machinery, tools, and equipment safely and effectively.
* Ensuring all landscaping work complies with workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.
Skills and Experience Required
For this position, it is expected that the candidate possesses the following qualifications and work experience:
* A Certificate III in Landscape Construction or a closely related qualification with at least one year of full‐time experience working in a Landscape Gardener role, or at least three years of work experience in a Landscape Gardener role if the formal qualification is not held.
