Job Overview
* Provide guidance and coaching to young people aged 15-18 who are experiencing homelessness, teaching essential life skills such as budgeting, cooking, and cleaning.
* Collaborate with Case Managers and Youth Workers to develop and implement individual support plans and programs that meet the unique needs of each client.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and trauma-informed environment, responding appropriately to challenging behaviours and critical situations.
* Foster respectful relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders, including those from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
About the Role
As a Youth Worker, you will be working in Darwin's only youth crisis accommodation service supporting young people of any gender aged 15-18 who are experiencing homelessness.
About You
* Relevant qualifications or progress toward a Certificate III in Community Services or Youth Work, with a focus on supporting vulnerable young people.
* Experience working with young people and knowledge of the youth homelessness sector, with a commitment to social justice and human rights.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and community partners.
* A passion for social change and a commitment to supporting women's rights and empowerment.
Please note that preferred candidates must hold, or be willing to obtain, a valid National Police Check, a state-based Working with Children Permit, valid Drivers' Licence, First Aid & CPR certificate, and complete a medical declaration.
