This meaningful role supports both Hummingbird House and the statewide Family and Community Support Team, providing compassionate, specialist paediatric palliative care to children and families. The Nurse Practitioner works both autonomously and in close collaboration with the broader team, delivering advanced practice care that is safe, evidence‐based, and family‐centred. The NP ensures their practice reflects the highest professional and regulatory standards, including those set by the NMBA, while contributing to a supportive, connected, and values‐driven care environment.
Responsibilities
* Providing specialist paediatric palliative care to children and families from perinatal to 21 years
* Undertaking comprehensive assessments and developing individualised care plans.
* Managing complex medical needs with the interdisciplinary team
* Ensuring effective pain and symptom management and treatment interventions.
* Facilitating advance care planning and bereavement support
* Educating families about conditions, treatments, and home‐care strategies

What We're Looking For
* Current AHPRA registration with endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner
* Nurse Practitioner endorsement in Palliative Care and/or Paediatric Nursing
* Willingness to travel across SEQ and statewide as required
* Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver holistic, family‐centred services
* Proven leadership skills and ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team
A Valuable Addition, Yet Not a Must‐Have!
* Experience working with either paediatric palliative care, paediatric Oncology or a hospice
* Proof of COVID‐19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
* Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
* Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel for work
* NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
