About the Role
* Lead kitchen staff with excellent leadership skills.
* Cooking and meal preparation to meet high standards.
* Develop new dishes and plan menu considering development and labour costs.
* Maintain inventory of food, supplies, and equipment.
* E nsure food safety compliance at all times.
* Collaborate with team members, supervise, and coordinate tasks.
* Create banquet menus and maintain kitchen upkeep.
* Develop and maintain presentation of dishes.
* Roster kitchen staff effectively.
* Assist management with training and mentoring of new staff.
* Store food according to food safety standards.
* Work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
* P ractice cost control and culinary best practices.
Requirements
* Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
* Associate Degree, Diploma, or advanced diploma in Commercial Cookery or relevant AQF Associate degree.
* Minimum 1-2 years of demonstrated experience as a Chef, preferably in a comparable restaurant.
* In-depth knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation.
* A strong passion for culinary arts and commitment to upholding high culinary standards.
